New Year Nails, Welcome 2013!!

Well I can't believe it but 2013 is here tomorrow!! I had a great year, so many life accomplishments that I am very intrigued with what this new year will bring. For my new year nails I am trying out the design called ruffian its like a backwards half moon or french tip.
I used Color Club: Harp On it and Zoya: Aurora with top coat of Out the Door.
Boy o boy check out that sparkle!! BAM, Aurora is amazing. I love this manicure and am excited to welcome 2013 wearing it! I have a few resolutions for my blog in 2013 that I wanted to share.
1. I will aim to post at least 3 times a week, this is less than I have been doing just because I don't want to feel like its what I have to do for my readers. I also love doing many different crafts so this will give me more time aswell.
2. I aim to get better picture quality, hopefully a new camera and lightbox.
3. Try to get my nails and cuticles in perfect shape.
4. Gain more followers and interact with them better.
Cheers to resolutions and the new year, I hope this new year brings you all great fortune and happiness!!

Shimmer Polish! Lisa Swatched (Pic Heavy)

Hello beauties! I have been pretty busy this winter break sorry for the lack of post. Today I am very excited to share with you my first Shimmer polish and it happens to be Custom, named Lisa :) I have been wanting a custom Shimmer polish for months and decided to ask Santa for it!! I asked for Purple as my main glitter with Silver and Golds, check out what I got!!!
My undies are Ulta: Lav-ish, I only applied one coat of Shimmer: Lisa since its glitter packed :) Top coat of Out the Door. Application is so easy for such a glitter packed polish, it's not to thick but you also don't have to place the glitter.
bonus pic with bottle
Macro Shoot!
I am totally rocking my nubby nails with this polish, it is so sparkly and pretty!! One thing that is off for the custom polish is that it doesn't have a gold sticker but who cares when the polish looks like that! This was defiently my favorite Christmas present.
If you are interested in getting your own custom polish check out her website here.

I used Zoya: Blaze,  OPI: Live and Let Die for the marble, and Konad Special White on stamping plate: HD09.
Well I am off to enjoy the rest of my Christmas, I hope you all have wonderful Holiday spending time with the one's you love!

Holographic Holidays: Sweet Treats

Today is my last day for Holographic Holidays challenge, you can still join in for tomorrow's tho if you want! Today's them is Sweet Treats, and what is more sweet than Candy Canes during christmas time? Nothing!
I started with a base coat of China Glaze: White on White and added two coats of Spectraflair top coat. I stamped with China Glaze: Merry Berry and Nicole by OPI: Khloe had a Little Lam Lam on plate HD10.
The white hologram was hard to capture but look how glorious it is! I love using single stamps and making them into my own full nail stamp, espically this one with differnt colors :)
Check back later to see what the other ladies did for Sweet Treat theme.

Holographic Holidays: Holiday Traditions

For today's post I have my take on Holographic Holiday Traditions! For my mani today I am using the HD plate series that just arrived last friday. My traditions are Christmas Lights, Baking, and Christmas Tree.
Base color is butter LONDON: Pillar Box Red than I applied Spectraflair and used plates HD07, 08, 10 with Konad Special White, to finish it off I applied another coat of Spectraflair :)
I choose these three traditions for my mani because they are my absolute favorite things about Christmas! When I lived at my parents I would always want to help my dad with putting the lights on the house. Baking to me and my siblings is one of our favorite traditions, every year we try out different recipes. Lastly of course who doesn't like decorating the Chirstmas tree!
Make sure to check out the other ladies who participated.

Holographic Holidays: Christmas Song

Yay for Holographic Holiday Challenge! This challenge was thought of by Neverland Nail Blog and Nailed It, it will be 5 days this week Dec. 17-21. First theme is Christmas Songs, and I choose Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Yes I did that theme for the HHJC, but I actually did this mani the day before I heard of this challenge and had to incorporate it somehow :)
Two coats of Color Club: Harp on It, using Konad special white I stamped snowflakes with plate BM-323 and added glequins, top coat of Out the Door.
Of course extra picture for us to drool over :)
Wow Color Club really over did themselves with this hologram polish! I only have one other haven't tried yet but can already tell it wont disappoint! If you don't have any hologram polishes you need to splurge and buy ATLEAST one of these. I am obessed with this mani, I wish it could have stayed on for more than a day :( Check out what other holographic holiday designs you will see this week!
To join in check Neveland Nail Blog or Nailed It for inlinkz code. For now check out the amazing designs of these other ladies below!

HJCC, Day 3: Deck the Halls

As you know today is another day of Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge, with today's them of Deck the Halls! I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this theme, I tried to think what would one decorate their 'halls' with. I came up with a wreath and holly mani!
I started with base coat of Zoya: Farrah, using Nicole by OPI: Khloe had a little Lam Lam and a dotting tool and made a wreath, also stamped with plate BM-14. I added a bow and red dots with my art club duo pen in red. Top coat of Out the Door.
I am pleasantly surprised how this mani turned out. Holly to me is a great decoration for Christmas time and I am happy I got to use the stamp this Christmas. Make sure to check back later with my first post for Holographic Holidays!!
Check out how the other girls portrayed Deck the Halls on their nails!

Sat-ART-Day: Anything Christmasy

For today's Sat-ART-Day theme I have a simple Christmassy design! All I did was pull some Christmas like colors and figure out how I wanted to incorporate them into a design.
The three colors I used are Zoya: Lisa (red), Nicole by OPI: Khloe had alittle Lam Lam (green) and Essie: Good as Gold, top coat of Out the Door.
I forgot how easy braid mani's are, and I LOVE the look of this design. You don't always need to add stamping and complicated nail art. I am off to get my families Christmas tree, enjoy your weekend!!
Check out the other ladies that are participating below!

Metalic Snowflakes

Today I have some more snowy nails! For some reason I keep wanting to incorporate snowflakes in my designs, I also wanted to make a brighter version of my subtle snowflakes design I did on monday.
Base, coat China Glaze: White on White, than I applied Orly: Winter Wonderland and two coats of butter LONDON: Matte Finish. Using Kleancolor: Metalic Aqua and Sapphire on stamping plates BM-319, 318. Top coat of Out the Door.
I defiently love metalic stamping on matte's. I may have done alittle to many snowflakes but they were so pretty!
Do you prefer this brighter design over my subtle design from monday?

Seche Vite, Collage Overlay (3) Swatches

Today I am excited to share with you the new Seche Vite: Collage Overlay. This polish got a lot of hype when it was first announced and I was one of those really excited ladies. I was out at my Sally's and noticed it's arrival so I had to pick it up. I have yet to see any swatches of this witch is surprising so lets see how it looks!
First here is one coat shown on two coats of China Glaze: White on White.
Next one coat over shown over one coat of piCture pOlish: Fairy Floss.
Lastly I have one coat shown over one coat of Color Club: Foil Me Once
My opinion of this polish is that its really shiny and I love the glitter combination of silver and white hexagons with stringy glitter. Unfortunately it didn't have the best application, had to place the glitters especially white hexagons. Dry time was nothing like normal Seche Vite with a long wait time. Also when I use it again I would make sure to still apply Seche Vite over for a smooth finish.
Have you tried it Collage Overlay yet? Do you think you are going to buy it if you haven't yet?

WHC, Day 3: Festival of Lights

Posting this a day early, but I finished my mani early :) I hope no one is getting sick of my holiday mani's yet, still a ways to go :) For todays Winter Holiday Challenge our theme is Festival of Lights! There are so many neat Christmas lights mani's that I have seen and decided to choose one by Nailsaurus I found on pinterest .
Base coat is Color Club: Take me to Your Chateau, I used China Glaze: Red Satin, OPI: Live and Let Die and Hits: Dionsio for light bulbs. I added hologram top coat on top of the green and red to make the bulbs appear lighted. Top coat of Out the Door.
My bulbs aren't nearly as good but I really like the hologram effect!

HJCC: Day 2, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!

For today's theme of Let it Snow!, Let it Snow!, Let it Snow! I did a more subtle design. My inspiration for my design is from when it's night and when light hits the snow it glitters :)
I started with one coat of Wet n Wild: Break the Ice, than applied a thick coat of Glitter Daze: Power of Three, I stamped with Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep on plates: BM14, BM 318 and BM319, finished with top coat of Out the Door.
It was hard to photgraph the snowflakes, but in real life they stand out more :) It really is subtle and shiny which reminds me of snow! Thankfully here in Michigan we have gotten a small amount of snow, sadly it's has yet to stick.

I love the hologram tips! I forgot how amazing hologram polishes are.

Antique vs. Mystic Mauve

Today I have my first color comparison post! I have debated on doing a post like this not sure how many people like or dislike these kinds of post. For my two colors I have piCture pOlish: Antique and Models Own: Mystic Mauve.
Bottle Shots!

So from the bottle shot you can sort of tell alittle difference, but you can see how they also look similiar right? I hope it's not just me ;) So how do they look on the nails you ask? Check out below!
This is with one coat of each color and easy application on both. Now for the differences you can see antique is more of a glitter while Mystic Mauve is like a metalic/glass fleck finish. Also antique is a darker pink tone while Mystic Mauve is very pink. But were you able to tell that from the bottle shot?!? I know I thought the colors were going to be alot more similiar than they are.
Do you like comparison post? Please let me know cause I can either do more or not, up to you my readers :)

Family Mani's Part 1

As I mentioned on my Thanksgiving post I was going to do my cousins nails this Thanksgiving. Boy was this a fun event, all together I did 9 set of hands and I also did my sister and mothers earlier that day. So here are half of the mani's! Picture only, there is no way I am writing up that many descriptions ;)
Sister Beth, these were inspired by a Pinterest post.
Cousin Madison, I was really excited to give her rhinstones!
Cousin Kenzie, I loved the purple obviously and smilies!
Cousin Chloe, youngest set of nails I did, saran technique. There is also a peace sign stamped on thumbs.
Cousin Kacey, she loved the gradient effect.
I had so much fun doing all these nails, it probably took about an hour and half for all 9 sets of hands. I enjoyed watching all of them go thru colors and see each of there personalities thru polish.
