Antique vs. Mystic Mauve

Today I have my first color comparison post! I have debated on doing a post like this not sure how many people like or dislike these kinds of post. For my two colors I have piCture pOlish: Antique and Models Own: Mystic Mauve.
Bottle Shots!

So from the bottle shot you can sort of tell alittle difference, but you can see how they also look similiar right? I hope it's not just me ;) So how do they look on the nails you ask? Check out below!
This is with one coat of each color and easy application on both. Now for the differences you can see antique is more of a glitter while Mystic Mauve is like a metalic/glass fleck finish. Also antique is a darker pink tone while Mystic Mauve is very pink. But were you able to tell that from the bottle shot?!? I know I thought the colors were going to be alot more similiar than they are.
Do you like comparison post? Please let me know cause I can either do more or not, up to you my readers :)

Family Mani's Part 1

As I mentioned on my Thanksgiving post I was going to do my cousins nails this Thanksgiving. Boy was this a fun event, all together I did 9 set of hands and I also did my sister and mothers earlier that day. So here are half of the mani's! Picture only, there is no way I am writing up that many descriptions ;)
Sister Beth, these were inspired by a Pinterest post.
Cousin Madison, I was really excited to give her rhinstones!
Cousin Kenzie, I loved the purple obviously and smilies!
Cousin Chloe, youngest set of nails I did, saran technique. There is also a peace sign stamped on thumbs.
Cousin Kacey, she loved the gradient effect.
I had so much fun doing all these nails, it probably took about an hour and half for all 9 sets of hands. I enjoyed watching all of them go thru colors and see each of there personalities thru polish.

Velvety :)

Back from holiday break so to say. I had 4 days off from work and since I have yet gotten a laptop I was without interenet on a computer to write my posts! BUT I ordered a laptop during black friday so it is looking like I will have a computer by the end of this week!!
Now for my nails today I finally got around to trying out the velvet nails. I bought some flocking powder a long time ago and decided its about time to try it, I dont know why I put it off for so long!
My base color is piCture pOlish:Violet Femme, and I used purple flocking powder.
OMG this technique is flipping awesome!! I defiantly was thinking that it was going to be a terrible mess all day and just crumble off, but I was wrong. I was able to take a shower and it stayed fluffy! I wore it for a day and had small chip wear, which is normal for any polish for me. I am sorta addicted now and think I may have to go out and buy a whole set of these wonderful flocking powders :)
One week left in my giveaway! Make sure to get your daily entries in!!

Horizontal Stripe Glitter Gradient

My NOTD is a sparkly gradient with hoirzonal stripes :) I used stripping tape and did a gradient over the tape. I have been alittle crazy with metallics if you haven't noticed.
Base color is one coat of Essie: Good as Gold, and the sparkle is China Glaze: Glitter All the Way, Top coat of Out the Door.
Check out Neverland Nail Blog here to see where my inspiration came from :) Lindsey always comes up with cute easy mani's.

Stamping with French Tip

Today's mani is a simple stamping with french tip. It turned out looking kind of Christmas like, but I still love it. This gets me super excited for more Holiday theme mani's!
I started with one coat of China Glaze: Merry Berry, the sparkle is OPI: Excuse Moi, for stamping I used Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep on plate CH13. Top coat of Out the Door.
Are you getting excited for Christmas!?!

Sat-ART-Day-Sci Fi, Star Wars

Along time ago in a galaxy far, far away... (cue music)
Welcome to Sci Fi, Sat-ART-Day! If you didn't catch my theme from above or the title... today I am sporting Star Wars nails!! Boy o Boy was this fun! Thanks to my family I am a huge Star Wars fan which made this day an easy choice of what to do!
To start I painted my pinky and pointer finger with China Glaze: White on White, my middle and ring finger base is China Glaze: Liquid Leather. I used Art Club Nail Art Duo Pen in Black, White, and Red for Storm Tropper face, R2 D2 Details, and galaxy. For R2 D2 body I used Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep and NYC: Water Street Blue with a nart art brush. Top Coat of Out the Door.
Ahhh I just love these nails! For the galaxy design I was inspired by Chalkboard Nails. For the storm trooper and R2 D2 I found the designs on google images. I really like the galaxy, totally different from the popular galaxy nail. Can't wait to see what the other girls come up with! Check them out below :)

Chevron Stamped Sandwhich

I recently tried out the chevron technique with doing v-tips and absoltely love how simple it was. I wanted to try to combine that with stamping and came up with this idea! I am calling this a sandwhich because the stamping is in the middle of the chevrons, hehe.
Two coats of OPI: Peep's Purple Passion, used Essie: Good as Gold for stamping and chevron tip. Stamping plate is Cheeky: CH4, top coat of Out The Door.
I really like how it transitions between the two colors, I can already tell that you will be seeing alot of this soon. It's so simple you start with your base than tape off the V and stamp, once that is dried tape off another V and use your stamping color for the tip. I just might make my first tutorial :)!

Layered Saran Mani for Twilight!!

Who is excited for Breaking Dawn Part 2!?!?! I am seeing it tonight at a special showing at 10pm! I am super excited to see how this story ends, I have not read the books only seen the movies. I wanted to do a super detailed mani but ran out of time so I ended up doing this layered saran mani.
I started with Zoya: Cho than I used China Glaze: Liquid Leather, White on White, and Red Satin for my saran technique. Top coat of Out the Door. After each color you have to let it dry before you try to do your next color.
Bella's red eyes inspired me, and its why I chose each of the four colors. I really like the look of saran mani and layering different colors. Eventho it's simple and not detailed I think it represents Twilight in an abstract way :)

Check back later to enter my 100 Facebook likes/First Giveaway!!! Two Prizes :)

Sparkly Houndstooth

Today I have a crazy sparkly mani to show you. My idea for this mani was inspired by some fabric that I selected for a client yesterday. The pattern is Houndstooth, I remebered seeing this pattern in my Bundle Monster stamping plate and decided I should try it out.
My base coat that can take credit for all the sparkle is two coats of China Glaze: Glistening Snow. I used Kleancolor: Metalic Aqua for stamping on plate BM-322, two top coats of Out the Door.
I can't get enough of this sparkle! Glistening Snow has a really rough finish which requred two coats of top coat, but doing so added to the sparkle so it's no big deal. This color is making me really excited for holiday mani's, I can already vision red and this sparkle!

Volleyball Nail Art and Swatch

My nails today are for a volleyball game tonight. My cousin is on my old highschool volleyball team and they are making their way up the tournament, hoping for states!! I also had a mini haul at Ulta over the weekend, thanks to my $5 coupon!! So I have a swatch of a new OPI DS to show you :)
Nail art first, this is over three coats of OPI DS: Magic. I used Art Club Nail Art Duo Pen in black and white for the volleyball, and  in Neon Yellow for #9. Top coat of Out the Door. Below is the swatch of just three coats of OPI DS: Magic.
This blue is perfect for the school colors of Blue and Yellow, I am excited to watch my cousin play tonight as well. DS: Magic is SO sparkly just like the other DS's if only the sun would of came out I could of had a much better picture.

Jewel V-Tips

I love recycling mani's :) By this I mean I take a day or two old mani that has some chip wear and spruce it up into a brand new (sometime) better mani, like my nails today!
I took my Saran Wrap mani and added some vtips and jewels! I used China Glaze: No Plan Jane and taped off a V. Top coat of Out the Door.
I got my jewels from the Born Pretty Store, make sure to use code- MLE10W21 for 10% off. I totally am in love with this mani, I mean it was pretty cool to begin with but this defiantly added some bling!
Do you try to add things to old mani's to save some time?

Sat-ART-Day- Vampires

Welcome to another Sat-ART-Day! I saw this theme a while ago and this is why I didn't do vamp nails for Halloween, so today I am re-welcoming Halloween theme nails also ;) I also thought it was close to perfect timing for me to wear these cause of the upcoming Twilight movie! My sister was the first in my family to get me into these movies, who is excited for it!?
I started with butter LONDON: Pillar Box Red, than using China Glaze: Liquid Leather I made a mouth opening across my fingers. I drew on the teeth with Nail Art Duo Pen: White and top coat of Out the Door.
This was a fun design to do, I am glad to be part of this group I love theme mani's. I just may have to redo these nails Thursday when I get to see Twilight!
Check out the other participants below.

First Saran Wrap Mani

Today I tried out the Saran Wrap techinque. Boy is this a fun technique, so easy also! All you do is apply your base color let it dry completely. Than you apply a thick coat of your second color and take some saran wrap all bunched up and blot your nail making the second color more sparce and marbled looking.
The two colors I used are China Glaze: Jungle Queen and No Plane Jane. I started with two coats of Jungle Queen and used No Plane Jane as my marbly color. Top coat of Out the Door.
These two colors are pretty similiar which made it hard to capture the look. But I absolutly love this look!! I am so excited to try different colors together with this technique.
Have you tried this out yet? What's your thoughts?

Summer Lovin, Swatch

If you follow me on facebook you know that I have been having computer problems. I thought I had fixed it but it once again has striked. So for now I am left with posting from work on my lunch breaks, so my post may be short and sweet till I either get a new computer or figure out a way to save my current one.
Now onto the nails, today I have a quick glitter swatch. I bought this one awhile ago and you probably have notcied I have been posting couple swatches every week. For todays swatch its a new brand I haven't shown called JENsations.
For my swatch I started with one coat of Sinful Colors: Hazard, and only one coat of JENsations: Summer l<3ving, top coat of Seche Vite.
This polish is so cute with sunflower and hearts really bright I can't wait to use it in the summer time. The one downside to the polish is that is can be really thick, hard to mix and when you apply it you really need to spread it around and kind of place the glitters. But I had no problem with doing that and it is worth the turn out :)
If you haven't yet follow me on facebook, I am planning an awesome giveaway when I reach 100 likes!! only 12 to go :)
Make sure to visit JENsations on etsy to see all her other polishes :)

Polish Days, MAN-icure

Today is another round of Polish Days! I forgot about last months but I am back at it for November. The theme for this month is MAN-icure, which is to go with Movember and to bring attention to mens health. This was a complicated theme and my design is pretty basic.
My base color is Zoya: Avery than to add shine I applied a thin coat of  butter LONDON: All Hail the Queen. Every other finger I used Nail Art Brush in Black and Zoya: Codie to draw out different facial hair, top coat of Out the Door.
Each nail has its own type of facial hair, starting with the pinky its a hitler patch, ring finger is a soul patch, middle finger is a mustache, and the pointer finger a full on beard. This theme was alot of fun and I can't wait to see what others come up with.

Check them out below.

Laser Tape Gradient

Today I have a nail art technique that I have seen alot on other blogs and have been meaning to try it out. It's pretty simple and the effect is alot of fun!
I started with two coats of China Glaze: Avalanche, once that dried I applied laser tape in different design and sponged on Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep to the top of the nail. Top coat of Out the Door.
I love the two metallics together, and how the lines vanish into the base coat.  This is a quick design that you could do with alot of color combinations.  I forgot how much fun laser tape can be this was a great refesher :)

Sat-Art-Day, Brand/Logo

Welcome to another Sat-ART-Day! Today's is hilarious coincident so we are to create a mani based off a brand/logo. I really wanted to think of one out of the box and go all out but I just had to do this one.
Back story is that I have worked at Meijer for three years and since I got my new job in August I have been working weekends there. For those of you who don't live in the midwest Meijer is like a Walmart, except there is only about 5 states that it is located in.  Well my last day is officially tomorrow so you can see how I just HAD to do the Meijer logo!
Started with two coats of China Glase: White on White, than using a nail art brush and colors Sally Girl: Blue and butter LONDON: Pillar Box Red I wrote Meijer, top coat of Out the Door.
Gosh this mani makes me laugh, I will not be wearing this for my last day tho. I am so excited to be leaving Meijer, for having worked there for three years I had  built great relationships with my coworkers in which I will miss. Now I will have more time for my hobbies, like doing my nails and hopefully start up more crafts for the holidays including quilting!!
Check out the other girl's creative Brands and Logos!!

Silky Prey Stamping

My NOTD is in honor of China Glaze and their chosen polish of the month! If you are fans of their facebook page you get the inside scoop ;) I actually had an idea of using these two colors together and totally forgot about it till now!
To start I did two coats of China Glaze: Prey Tell, stamping done with China Glaze: Swanky Silk on plate BM-315, top coat of Out the Door.
I forgot how awesome the Bohemian collection stamps, I have more ideas for the other colors in this collection that I own. The stamping design reminds me of Christmas ornament I for see it in the future for my holiday mani's! Stamping is the quickest way to get a beautiful mani, even tho I am still feeling under the weather I was able to kick this baby out!

Flowers in the Indian Ocean

Back to our regualr scheduled program :) Although I still have a head cold I managed to do my nails today, and check out my new nubs. I actually did these cause I was getting sick with the length of my nails, always fun to try something new!
I have a gorgeous duochrome/glass flaky polish for you today! It was super hard to photograph you will have to trust me when I say it is out of this world! When the light hits this polish it radiates a pink shimmer with the light blue base. It is a very sheer polish that probably looks good over many different colors.
Shown above is three coats of Models' Own: Indian Ocean top coat of Out the Door. Than I added stamping with Color Club: Take me to Your Chateau, stamping plate BM-306.
This is such a cute mani! The pink shows thru and the light blue blends in with the light blue base of Idian Ocean. My pictures really don't give this polish justice, you know a polish is beautfiul when you can't capture it on camera :)
