Purple Ikat Print

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Happy Monday and it is indeed a beautiful one here in Michigan. I have my first attempt at an Ikat print mani. I followed a tutorial by Kayla from Nails by Kayla Shevonne, you can find it here. This was a super easy design, and I will defiantly be trying this with brighter colors for the summer.

China Glaze: When Stars Collide
Zoya: Kendal
Nail Art Duo: Black and White

I also used one of the China Glaze Holograms for my background, there is a lot of thoughts on these new collection by China Glaze. I did have problems with the formula  and if you want a in your face holo these aren't for you. Have your tried this design?

What a gorgeous and beautiful Sunday and happy Easter to all who celebrate!! The Easter bunny already came to my families house and I got the new Pueen nail plates and I am super excited to use them :) Here are the nails that I am wearing for Easter.

Zoya: Wednesday and Bevin
China Glaze: Surreal Apeal and Life is Rosy
Color Club: Take me to Your Chateau
Art Club: Black, White, and Neon Pink

I like the combination of some floral for spring and bunny for Easter! The weather here in Michigan has finally started to turn for the better, I actaully thought I forgot what the sun looked like ;). Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Spring Skittle Mani

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Friday before Easter and I got the cutest spring mani for you to celebrate it with. My inspiration for these colors came upon my recent shopping trip for an Easter outfit.  Coral and mint green are all over the spring styles. I could not find any new shirts in a different color, and frankly I am in love! Here is my take on coral and mint green collaboration.

piCture pOlish: Honey Dew and Coral Reef
butter LONDON: West End Wonderland and Matte Effect
Art Club Nail Art Duo: Black and White
Lime Crime: Milky Way
Color Club: Cherubic

This is my favorite skittle mani to date! I also decided that the best glitter nail is with a hologram base coat, it really gives the glitter alot more depth. Have you yet to see these color combinations in  stores or even on your own nails? Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll have a quick Easter nail post for you on Sunday!!

Polish Days: Vintage

Second post today since it's March Polish Days today! It took me sometime to think of what to do for this theme, Vintage. The only thing I could really come up with is Lace and it was hard to come up with a design. I was lucky to stumble upon this pin and it inspired me.

Zoya Pixie Dust: Chyna
Art Club Duo Pen Stripper: White

Also I used my first Pixie Dust for this mani, boy o boy am I in love!  I have to say I really wasn't expecting anything great of the Pixie Dusts since swatches never caught my eye. I of course like to give everything a try, especially since I had a coupon, so I grabbed two. WOW I read on someone's blog that the shimmer is really hard to capture and they were right, you just have to see these in person! Make sure to check out what the other participants did for the theme Vintage below!

Evanora (Oz) Nails

Happy Monday, this weekend went way to fast hopefully that's a sign this week will go fast!! I had a review planned for today but I am waiting on some more info from the supplier so stay tuned this week to view some pretties!

This past weekend I went to see Oz the Great and Powerful. Quick opinion on the movie was that it was ok, it was funnier than I thought and had a twist I didn't expect. While I was watching this movie tho I kept thinking of OPI's collection for this movie. By now you have probably seen the collection of neutrals and glitters with a liquid sand. My main thought was how did OPI come up with those colors to represent the Oz?? Wouldn't it of made more sense for an Emerald Color (Emerald City) or a Golden Color (Yellow Brick Road). Anyways just a few thoughts.

Now for my nails I was inspired by Evanora, one of the bad witches, she had a edgy mani for this movie.

Wet n Wild: Break the Ice
Sinful Colors: Black on Black
Art Club Silver Sparkle Stripper

I was very impressed with this choice of mani for Evanora, it really makes her nails look like claws. This design is really easy to do yourself also, probably will be a good Halloween mani! Here is a picture of her nail's in the movie.

Have you seen this movie yet? What were your thoughts on the OPI Oz collection?

Tribalish Braid Mani

Good Morning all! It's a great day to be a Thursday, just because tomorrow is Friday!!! I hope everyone's week is flying by as fast as mine :) Today I have a super fun and actually simple mani even tho it may not look like it. It's a braid mani with some extra detail which reminds me of tribal mani's.

 Lime Crime: Milky Ways
Art Club Nail Art Duo: Purple Passion
 China Glaze: Marry a Millionaire
butter LONDON: Matte Top Coat.

I did see this design I think on youtube, but I could not find the video. I need to do a better job at bookmarking web pages!! Of course I added a matte top coat also, I just love matte pastels! Enjoy your day :)

Pink Butterfly Mani

This must be the week of trying new nail designs, today I have my first try at butterfly nails. I think I put off this design because I thought it was going to be so hard, but it actually is easy if you have stripper brush and dotting tools.

My gradient is with China Glaze: Surreal Appeal and Color Club: Halo-Graphic. I used my Nail Art Duo Pen's in Black and White for the details finishing with top coat of Out the Door.

I REALLY love this mani, the design is so bold! This design gets easier as you do each nail so don't give up if you attempt it!!

Volleyball Nail Art and Swatch

My nails today are for a volleyball game tonight. My cousin is on my old highschool volleyball team and they are making their way up the tournament, hoping for states!! I also had a mini haul at Ulta over the weekend, thanks to my $5 coupon!! So I have a swatch of a new OPI DS to show you :)
Nail art first, this is over three coats of OPI DS: Magic. I used Art Club Nail Art Duo Pen in black and white for the volleyball, and  in Neon Yellow for #9. Top coat of Out the Door. Below is the swatch of just three coats of OPI DS: Magic.
This blue is perfect for the school colors of Blue and Yellow, I am excited to watch my cousin play tonight as well. DS: Magic is SO sparkly just like the other DS's if only the sun would of came out I could of had a much better picture.

Sat-ART-Day- Vampires

Welcome to another Sat-ART-Day! I saw this theme a while ago and this is why I didn't do vamp nails for Halloween, so today I am re-welcoming Halloween theme nails also ;) I also thought it was close to perfect timing for me to wear these cause of the upcoming Twilight movie! My sister was the first in my family to get me into these movies, who is excited for it!?
I started with butter LONDON: Pillar Box Red, than using China Glaze: Liquid Leather I made a mouth opening across my fingers. I drew on the teeth with Nail Art Duo Pen: White and top coat of Out the Door.
This was a fun design to do, I am glad to be part of this group I love theme mani's. I just may have to redo these nails Thursday when I get to see Twilight!
Check out the other participants below.

Polish Days, MAN-icure

Today is another round of Polish Days! I forgot about last months but I am back at it for November. The theme for this month is MAN-icure, which is to go with Movember and to bring attention to mens health. This was a complicated theme and my design is pretty basic.
My base color is Zoya: Avery than to add shine I applied a thin coat of  butter LONDON: All Hail the Queen. Every other finger I used Nail Art Brush in Black and Zoya: Codie to draw out different facial hair, top coat of Out the Door.
Each nail has its own type of facial hair, starting with the pinky its a hitler patch, ring finger is a soul patch, middle finger is a mustache, and the pointer finger a full on beard. This theme was alot of fun and I can't wait to see what others come up with.

Check them out below.

Witchy Mani

I have seen so many Halloween nails this month from other bloggers and I decided on doing one that had this awesome tutorial.
The two colors I used were China Glaze: Liquid Leather and White on White. I used my black Art Club Duo Pen to draw the witch, finished the mani with Out the Door.
I liked this design cause it was something I would have never thought of. I usually just think of jack o latens, candy corn, and black cats when it comes to Halloween.
Whats your favorite thing about Halloween??

Jack o Laten and Pumpkin Puke Swatch

Looks like Halloween is around the corner, means it's time for some halloweeny nails, and of course I got an awesome Halloween polish from Perception Nail Lacquer. It is called pumpkin puke, how creative, so I had to add a jack o lantern for a fun touch.
My base color is one coat of NYC: Traffic Jam Orange, Two coat of Perception Nail Lacquer: Pumpkin Puke, used my black duo pen for the pumpkin face, Top coat of Seche Vite.
I loved the Pumpkin Puke polish was great formula and such a pretty glitter. More Halloween themed mani;s to come as we get closer to the day!!

Sat-ART-Day, 1950's

I recently joined a new facebook club and I am so excited to be a part of it. There are tons of challenges to join in on and I choose the Sat-ART-Day group. This means on every Saturday I will be posting some nail art on themes given to me. Last week started the challenge and I was to busy to post one so I am starting out with this week's theme 1950's.
Since I just finished the Time Warp Challenge I knew right away what to do for the 1950's. You may remeber my poodle skirt mani that I did for one of the challenges, I just loved it so much I wanted to recreate the look with a different twist.
My base colors are China Glaze: White on White and Zoya: Renea. I used my nail art duo black pen to draw on the poodle, and konad special black with stmaping plate CH-3  . Top coat of Out the door.
The checkerboard black and white is to represent the tile that was popular during the time. The stamping turned out perfect I couldn't stop looking at it. 1950's must of been a fun time to live during!

Check out the other participates mani's below

Base color for sky is Color Club: Take me to your Chateau. For Scarecrow base color is Zoya: Avery. I used my nail art duo pens in black and white for the details. Top coat of Out the Door.
Hope everyone is enjoying the start of fall, I can't believe its October. More fall and Halloween mani's to come for this month :)

LDTTWC, Day 5- We Can Do It!!!

Another week of the time warp challenge! This one is probably the hardest for me, I am not a history buff AT ALL this made it really hard for me to think of influential women. Even though there are SO many women who have made their mark on history I just couldn't think of one. I finally came up with Amelia Earhart, we all know who she is so short and sweet she was the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
For my nails I was inspired by her plane, the one she flew across Atlantic Ocean was red, Amelia's nickname for this plane was Red Bus. The model number on the plane was NR-7352 which was located on the wing of the plane. Here is a picture to show what I was going after..
So I decided to do a sky for background, its hard to see the clouds in the blue, but they are there!
Colors used were Color Club: Take me to Your Chateua, China Glaze: White on White. I  used my Red and Black Nail Art Pen and Stripper for writing.
This is my least favorite of all the challenges so far, but I hope you like my outcome.

LDTTWC Day 2, It's Vintage, Darling!

Yes I already have the second challenge complete for this week, I was sooo excited about this challenge I knew right away what I wanted to do! It turned out exactly how I thought to :) My inspiration was the poodle skirts from the 50's, see pic below.
To achieve this look I started with base color Orly: Flirty Girl, Purple for the skirt is Wet N Wild: On a Trip, for the legs I used Zoya: Avery, and my white and black pen for the details along with the poodle. Top coat of Out the Door.
Isn't it just perfect! you can see the puffiness of the skirt by how it expands across four nails and the legs are on the middle nails. OMG the poodle is SOOO cute! Let see what is coming up for next weeks challenge!

Watermelons, by my Sister

My sister asked to do my nails while on vacation, she was very excited to use my tools and show me what she can do! We almost ended up doing lady bugs but she decided on Watermelons, which I have been wanting to do so it worked out well!
To start with my base colors for the accent nails was Nicole by OPI: Khloe had a Little Lam Lam, and for the other three nails base coat was China Glaze: Mediterranean Charm. For the lighter green rind part Zoya:  Wednesday. She applied the strips using the dotting tool on the accent fingers, and used a brush for the French Tip. Using my Nail art Duo Pen: Black, she drew on the seeds.
It was alot of fun showing her how to use the dotting pen and brush. She struggle to start but I think she got the hang of it on the third nail. I was happy to see her enjoy doing my nails but she still has alittle work to get to my level ;)
Don't you think these look pretty good!!
