Color of the Year

~nothing to disclose~

Good Morning my lovelies! I am officially back at painting my nails this week. I took about 2 weeks off just cause I had no motivation and a few nail breaks. Now I am back with how I wore Pantones color of the year: Radiant Orchid.

nina ultra pro radiant orchid polka dots essie peak of chic plum to the earth sinful colors glitter accent nail color of the year pantone

Nina Pro: Plum To the Earth
Essie: Peak of Chic
Sinful Colors: White on White

Eventho I am just now wearing this color, it is by far one of my gems.  Also you probably can tell the change in lighting from my last mani, I finally have an OTT light! This is much closer to my actual skin color, and hopefully will help to get more color accurate photos in the future :D

Neon Cheetah

I had the pleasure of doing one of my sisters friends nails this weekend, she was inspired by a design on pinterest. I love doing my sisters and her friends nails they always want fun mani's.
To start base coat is Wet N Wild: French Creme, colors used for cheetah was Nina Ultra: Punki Purple, Solar Flare, China Glaze: I'm With the Lifeguard, Orange Knockout. Black for the print was Sinful Colors: Black on Black, Top coat of Out the Door.
Besides the smearing on the pointer finger the mani turned out very well. She loved it, her comment was that they look like the Sally Hansen Sticker, this is the true sign that I am a professional :)

Neon Dots

I decided to do this mani to get some practice using my new Dotting Tools from Born Pretty Store. Of course its neon cause of the summer, not the most original but I love neons.
The colors I used were base coat of Wet n Wild: French White Creme. China Glaze: Orange Knockout, I'm With the Lifeguard, Pool Party, and Splish Splash, than Nina Ultra Pro: Solar Flare, and Punki Purple. Out the Door Top Coat.
The dotting tool is pretty easy, I tried two different ways of applying the polish to the tool. One was putting it on a plastic plate and pushing the tool into it, the other was using the brush to apply the polish. I think the second way worked better since it didn't waste as much polish.
How do you work your dotting tools?

Neon Stars!

I am really excited about this post, I ordered some items from Born Pretty Store and they have arrived! Pictured below is the black stripping tape, dotting tools, and stamping plate CK- 04
The colors I used are as followed: Pink nail is China Glaze: Pool Party with Color Club: Wing Fling. Orange nail is China Glaze: Orange Knockout with Color Club: Sparkle and Soar. Yellow nail is Nina Ultra Pro: Solar Flare with Color Club: Daisy Does It. Green nail is China Glaze: I'm With the Life Guard and Color Club: Fly With Me. Blue nail is Studio M: Total Wow and Color Club: Sky High. To add more sparkle I top coated with Northern Lights.
Now for the design aspect I used the black stripping tape I bought from bornprettystore. I have used taped before with my past designs so when I tried this kind out it wasn't to difficult to use. It stuck to my nails very well so the polish didn't seep under, the only thing I wish this tape came with was a dispenser of some sort to make it easier to cut the pieces.
I taped off the star than using Sinful Colors: Black on Black I went over the entire nail. To remove the tape I found it helpful to use tweezers. Top coat of Out the Door to finish my mani off :) I can't wait to come up with more designs using this stripping tape, I have a feeling I will go thru it in no time!!
Hope you love this one as much as me!

Sunshine Yellow

In honor of the beautiful sun we have been getting in Michigan I wanted to create my brightest yellow nail color. Of course the picture doesn't do it justice but here is a response I got from a customer at work while wearing it. "Holy sunshine fingernails" :) Hence the name Sunshine Yellow.
Start with a white base coat Wet n Wild: French Whit Creme. This is the key when doing any neon color. Next was Nina Ultra Pro: Solar Flare, and to add some shine I used Color Club: Daisy Does it. Top coat of Out the Door.
I ended up wearing this color longer than I expected but thats cause I wanted to figure out a design to incorporate it, sadly I never did.
Any ideas?

Softball Nails

I did these nails for watching my sister in her softball tournament yesterday. They were simple and easy, nothing to extreme, but a hit with the fans and the team!
I used Sally Girl white for a base coat, helped the yellow stand out with only one coat. Ulta Pro: Solar Flare, this formula dried really fast. To draw the lines I used  my red Art Club Nail Art Duo Pen.
Only kept them on for the day, alittle to much to wear out and about for me.

Purple Curves

For this mani I started with one coat Wet n Wild Megalast: On a Trip, than I used some scrapbooking scissors to tape off curves and applied, China Glaze: Avalanche, did the same for the last color Ultra Pro: Purple Xing. Top coat of Out the Door.
I love these colors together, I found Purple Xing this weekend on my shopping haul it is by far the best purple sparkle I have. Plus its a one coat glitter and who doesn't love those?
