Rainbow 31DC2013 Mani & BPS Shell Glitter, Review

 photo button_zpsc89bd61d.png photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Good Morning and Happy Monday Readers. I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready for this work week. I have a bright mani to start this rainy Monday. The 31 Day Challenge Mani is rainbow today, I also have a flakie glitter from the Born Pretty Store to share my review of.

Zoya: Livingston, Sharon, Darcy, Shawn, and Mira
Color Club: Baldwin Blues
Sweet Color: #1

I have wanted to do a vertical rainbow gradient for awhile now and really happy I finally checked that off my to-do list. I also love how you can see this gorgeous flakie top coat on all different colors. Formula for this polish was great, it does have a strong scent that may be hard for some to get use to. I have a couple macro's below to show this multi-color flakie up close and personal.

Like most flakie's they show up much better on darker colors. My favorite was how it looked on purple :D. I really enjoyed wearing this mani and will defiantly be using this flakie top coat alot more.

This polish is 11.79, and can be purchased here. There are 10 more colors to this flakie collection, make sure to check out all your options. The Born Pretty Store really has so much to offer in nail art items, they also offer free International shipping. Make sure to use my coupon code below for 10% off!!

Guest Post: Meisie's Nails

Welcome readers to my first guest post while I am on vacation. Hopefully by now we have reach the house my family and I are staying in and starting the tour of New York City! For my first guest post I have Angelique from Meisie's Nail Blog, she does alot of amazing freehand nail art, make sure to check out her blog!

Hi lovely ladies,

I'm Angelique from Meisie's Nails blog. I was very happy and excited when Lisa contacted me and asked me to write a guest post for her. This is the first time I've been asked to write a guest post, so be gentle! :)

I wasn't sure what nail design to do for this post. I thought of many themes, but decided to go through my TO-DO list of nail designs - yep, I have a TO-DO list of nail designs I want to do some day! :) The first item on my list was drip nails. And that's what I did: a rainbow drip mani!

For the base color I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, which, in my opinion, is the best white nail polish ever! For the drips I used acrylic paint and a small detailing brush. This is a very fun and easy nail art design that anyone can do. You can also use nail polish to paint the drips instead of acrylic paint.

I hope you liked my rainbow drip nails!

Thanks for reading!

Wow isn't that an amazing drip mani!! I love this design with the bright rainbow colors. I have yet to do a full on drip mani and this is great inspiration. Thank you again Angelique, this is just flawless! Make sure you check out her blog for even more nail art! Stay tune for some more guest post next few days :)

Metallic Rainbow Ruffian

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Happy Monday! I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a new work week. I wasn't in a polishing mood this weekend so I did a simple mani for today. I have seen this technique a couple times and decided to give it a try.

 Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep
Models Own: Mystic Mauve

I call this a rainbow ruffian since to me it looks like a rainbow and all you do is continue the ruffian technique. This also looks pretty psychedelic, I can imagine using neons for this summer! Have you tried this 'rainbow ruffian' style yet?

Rainbow and Pot of Gold!

Happy Thursday all, I hope you are getting as excited for the weekend as I am! Only three more days to St Patty's Day and so far I have only done two themed mani's :( I have a fun one for you today tho! Green is a pretty big representation for St Patty's Day but I also think of Leprechauns and a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, which is what I have for you today.

butter LONDON: Pillar Box Red
Zoya: Sharon, Mira, and Gilty
Color Club: Most Famous
China Glaze: Starboard
Loreal: Jet Set to Paris
Essie: Good as Gold

This might be the most colors I have ever used in a mani! I hope you can see how the gold is at the end of the rainbow, literally since that's 18k gold flakies!! I really love this mani, I hope to get atleast two more St Patty mani's done before the big day!!

Foil Transfer First Attempt

Here is my first try at using Transfer Foils. I got these beauties from the Dollar Nail Art Store. For only a dollar you get a long roll and it only takes about 6 inches to do both hands. They are very simple to apply, you get adhesive cover the entire nail wait 5 minutes than you rub on the foil and pull it off! The pattern stay on as long as you applied enough glue. They have SO many different patterns, I can't wait to try out the other 5 I bought.
So shiny in the sun!
To start my base coat was Orly: Close Your Eyes, I applied the adhesive on a diagonal line than used my Foil Transfer named Rainbow Swirl. Used my Sally Hansen: Top Coat, the directions claim if you use a Quick Dry top coat will cause the nail foil to shrink. To apply the glitters I used Studio M: Stuck on You, than my top coat of Out the Door.
The tips don't look the best but I will be working on perfecting this nail art! How do you feel about nail foils?
