Lines and Dots

I got a bottle of part of the hunger games collection from China Glaze a while back and decided to finally use it. Guess I have been in the mood for gray scale nails.
One coat of China Glaze: Stone Cold, than tapped of the sides of my nails and used Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep, to finish the mani I used my pen from Art Club Nail Art: White to draw circles, and top coat of Out the Door.
I LOVE the matte finish of the Stone Cold, unfortunately my top coat gives it a shine finish in the photo. The polish alone dried extremely fast I was very impressed.
I surprisingly like how this mani turned out, does anyone else find them self suddenly turning away from colors?

Hologram!!

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS POST! I have wanted a hologram for months, kept debating about just buying one online and so glad that I didn't have to resort to it. Everyone needs atleast one hologram in their nail polish stash! This one was $15.50 and the bottle is smaller than regular bottles but it is SO worth it!
For a base coat I used Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep, than 3 coats of Layla Hologram Effect: Mercury Twilight. Top coat Out the Door. I could have pasted with using 2 coats but I went all out :D.
How do you feel about Holograms? To expensive, not worth it?

butter LONDON!

Yes you have all read the title right, I finally found a store with Butter London and so much more!  All thanks to a coworker of mine I found another nail polish store close to me :D You can't imagine how excited I was, when I first walked in it felt like heaven. Ulta is the name of my new found love and what brands it had that made me really excited was butter LONDON, Zoya, and Layla Holograms. I see so many blogs with awesome brands and colors that I wish were sold at a store near me since I refuse to pay shipping on nail polish.
Now about my mani I choose Butter London Knackered because of the sweet chore color with hologram specs. For $14 a bottle I wasn't choosing any old color. I have read a post about this color so I knew it was going to apply very sheer, I applied Sally Hansen Insta Dri Silver Sweep as base color. I figured the silver wouldn't over power but add to the chrome. Sadly I was wrong, I still had to apply about 5! coats of the polish to get it to a color I liked. Top coat with Out the Door.
The color is really pretty in the light, but the chrome doesn't show much usually just looks silver with specs, but this could also be because of my base coat silver. I wasn't to impress with the brush and how sheer the formula was, especially since it was costly. This will probably be my only butter LONDON, but I will continue to find a color that it will look amazing on!

Water Marbling Experince

So I did it, I tried out water marbling... WOW is this a hard technique. First I had to play around and see which of my nail polishes would spread in the water, than I had to see if they would work together. I found that some didn't spread if it was the second ring. The next problem was that it would dry to fast that I couldn't draw a design, or that my design wouldn't turn out. Once I found out the brands that worked best for me, I went shopping for more colors!! China Glaze, Orly, and Sally Hansen, are the three that I found work the best.
For mine I used China Glaze: Shower Together, Orly: Plum Noir, and Sally Hansen: Silver Sweep. The colors I used for the rest of my nails was Orly: Close Your Eyes. It's a shiny version of the Plum Noir. Top Coat of Out the Door.
I really liked the color combination of this mani, but I do wish I could of captured better parts of the water marble. This technique will take more practice, definitely will be seeing more soon.

Black and Silver Squares

Here is one of the many patchwork nails you will see me post. I love these designs and incorporating four and three colors at a time.
For the first color I used my favorite silver chrome, Sally Hansen Fast Dry: Silver Sweep. It only needs one coat and dry's SO fast don't even need to add SV to speed up drying time. Next I tape off a square and added Icing: Glamourous, than SV. Then same process for next square with using Nicole by OPI: Follow me on Glitter, part of the Kardashian Kolors Collection. I really liked how this looked but my original plan was to add black...

And tah dah! my finished patchwork. I wanted to have a black and silver mani and chose 2 sparkles in each color to give me my four colors! So much fun.
