Essence Nail Art Review

~Press Sample~

Morning, hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I had some fun doing my cousins and their friends nails for prom, I will share those designs with you later this week. For now I have the last part of my Essence products review. These items are used for nail art, which you will see below.

First up I have a mani using the polish, french manicure pen, and effect nails glitters pictured above.

essence give me nude baby review french manicure pen effect nails glequins accent nail

Essence: Give Me Nude, Baby & French Manicure Pen
Effect Nails: Call me Galaxy

Give Me Nude, Baby is the perfect nude for a french manicure, shown is two coats.
I didn't have much luck using the manicure pen, it was rather difficult to get the look I have shown. The pen tip is plastic and only comes out in very thin lines, also it is important that your base is completely dry otherwise the plastic tip punctures the base and creates dents.
I did however really enjoy the pot of glitters for this effect nail. I choose to place some glitters at the tips to add some extra bling.

essence thats what I mint tattoo pen freehanded tribal print review

Essence: Thats What I Mint
Tattoo Pen

I choose to randomly draw some tribal designs using the Tattoo Pen. This product made me really excited to be able to draw out detailed designs. Learning from my experience with the white pen I made sure to let my base coat dry completely.  As you can see, this is great for very fine details, but it is harder to get straight thick lines.

Make sure you visit your local Ulta store to view Essence entire nail art line, they have very reasonable prices!

Swirly Pretzel

~nothing to disclose~

Morning, I didn't work yesterday so I forgot to post :S I have just a simple stamping mani, I have been trying to use all my new Mundo stamping polishes. I thought this royal blue would look great over a nude.

Of course I added some glequins just to bling it out :D

Neon Coral and Black

~some items provided for previous review~

It has officially been sunny for three days straight, in order to celebrate I have a neon mani! This is also my first use of Flip Flop Fantasy and I now know why this is such a popular color from China Glaze. The pigment is amazing and the formula was great for being a neon.

China Glaze: Flip Flop Fantasy
Nail Foil

I pretty much love this entire mani, black always makes neon's stand out that much more. I love how this lace nail foil looks over this coral, last time I paired it with a sheer. Here's to hoping this sunshine weather stays and that I didn't jinx it!

Pattern Half Moon Mani

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Morning, we have another cold morning today. I am really over winter and I know I have at least one more month of it :( It is hard to be inspired to do my nails when all I want to do is wrap up in a blanket all night. My mani today is rather simple with stamping and half moon design. I am not sure why I do half moon designs anymore, I am not a fan of how they look on my nails.

NYC: Water Stree
Milani: Black Swift

I originally choose to do this design since I wanted to use my glequins. I do like how they outline the moon shape.
How do you stay inspired to do your nails?

Funky Side-Swept Christmas French

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png
Morning lovelies. Today I am starting back up with some Christmas Designs and will keep going till Christmas Day! My look today was inspired by The Nail Network, she thought of this funky swept french design. Her mani is simply gorgeous so make sure to check it out!

 Essie: Good as Gold
RCM: Candid Moment

My approach to this design was to create lots of bling! That's why I choose to use gold and glequins :D I like how this design is a subtle but you can still tell it's Christmas inspiration.

Honeycomb and Glequins

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Yay its Friday!! I don't really have any exciting plans for this weekend, I just want some days off :D. My mani today is very bright and cheerful, more for the summer but who cares!

 Sally Hansen: Sonic Boom

I really love this stamp pattern since I can place glequins perfectly into each space! I see many possiblities for these design.
Do you have any fun weekend plans?

Ascending/Descending Glequins

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

HAPPY FRIDAY!! I am just a bit excited for this weekend if you can't tell. I have a fully booked weekend, which I have for the past 7 weekends, but this one just seems more exciting.  I probably will be changing my nails tonight for my weekend mani but here is what I have on now.

Color Club: Wild Cactus

I call this ascending/descending glequins since going pinky to pointer more of the nail gets filled with glequins. I randomly came up with this idea when I applied Wild Cactus and started at my nail art box to figure out what I can combing with it. I don't use much 3D items and since I knew I was only wearing this a day I figured safe bet for them to last a day. Not exactly sure how I feel about the design concept, but atleast my nails are really shiny!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Sat-ART-Day, Amethyst Pattern Skittle

Welcome back to Sat-Art-Days! Last month it was put on hold for a 31 Day Challenge that I choose not to take part in. What better way to start this series off than a purple pattern skittle mani!!! We choose Amethyst since it's the birth stone for February, what a coincident my birthday is in this month ;)

My colors are Zoya: Mira, Lime Crime: Lavendairy, Color Club: Glitter Wonderland, plate BM-223, and top coat of Out the Door.

Yup this is a totally me mani, obviously! I am starting to get a hang of skittle mani's, it's alot of fun combining patterns.  Make sure to check out all the other Amethyst Skittle Pattern mani's below, I can't wait to see what we all come up with!

31 DC, Day 16: Color Opposites

 photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Back to back challenge posts! Finally half way thru this 31 Day challenge and today's theme is color opposites. I really don't like many of the color opposite pairs, besides green and red but obviously that's christmassy, so I went with purple and yellow!!

I asked on Facebook if you my readers prefer one or more pics per mani and got a great answer that more than one picture can benefit you. I will be adding another photo to my posts at a different angle, let me know how you like it!

Lime Crime: Lavendairy and Crema de Limon
butter LONDON: Matte Effect

Well would you look at that, pastel purple and yellow are actually really pretty together! This is defiantly a springy mani also, and you know how much I die for matte pastels :) Who knew that matte glequins can be so dainty too? This mani is a defiant keeper!

Essence Review, Part 3

 photo button_zpsc89bd61d.png photo me_zps76cb00ed.png

Yay it's finally Friday, only 8 hours of work stand in my way of the weekend! For the last of my Essence review I have some nail art items :) I love glitters and studs so I was very excited to try out these items. This pack is called Essence Nail Art Decorating Kit, it comes with some glequins, line glitters, round studs, diamond glitters, and gold foil pieces.

I used the round studs and diamond glitters for this look.

Zoya: Toni
Essence Glitters
Essence Gel Look Top Coat

The gold diamond glitters are so shiny! To apply both of these I used a toothpick dipped in water to pick the glitters up. The glitters laid nice and flat after a top coat, also the round studs are not balls they are cut in half which makes them stay attached much easier to the nail. I love the variety of glitters you get in this pack. I probably wont use the line glitters ever and wish they gave more of the ball studs!!

As I said in my first post I got the Gel Look Top Coat and have used it on all these mani's. My final thoughts on this product is that it is great for a super shiny finish! Now the downfall for me was that it does have a longer dry time, but that's only cause I always use the fast drying top coats. I wore each mani for a full two days and didn't have any tip wear.  If you really want that shiny look I would grab this one!

These are all crazy cheap products, make sure you check out your local Ulta store and pick up these goodies! I know I will be going thru my Ulta store to find more essence products!
